** Note: While the mod is completed and bug-free to the best of my knowledge, this description is a work-in-progress. I've been working 12 hour days this week and I'll update this as I am able to find time. **

ESNV is a great mod that adds energy shields to containers and foes throughout Fallout New Vegas. While there's nothing wrong with the fact that the shields stop scaling at level 30, I thought it would be cool to change that such that they continue to improve up to level 50.

This mod adds four additional tiers of shields: Screen, Shelter, Bulwark, and Bastion. For shield capacity ("Shield Points" or SP) and recharge rate I followed the same progression pattern as in the original mod. However, for Recharge Delay and Break Delay, following the same advancement pattern would lead to ridiculously short delay times. Therefore, those statistics had their growth rate halved. Don't worry, they're still a noticeable upgrade!

I wanted to ensure that the unique shields (with the exception of Cloud Cover which has a purpose very limited in scope) remained competitive in comparison to standard shields above level 30. To this end, each unique shield will improve to similar quality of the best available standard shields. To clarify, 'best available' is dependent on several factors, the most important being the level cap. If you use a level cap remover or have all four DLC (other than Gun Runners' Arsenal, which does not increase the level cap) the best shields are the 46-50 bracket, Bastion. If you only had Dead Money and Honest Hearts installed, for example, your best available shields would be the Shelter bracket, scaled for levels 36-40. The shields don't scale all the way up to level 50 at the beginning of the game, but rather wait until the player hits level 31. This allows me to ensure a player that takes Logan's Loophole doesn't have access to a shield that will forever be 4 tiers above his character level (since he will cease to level up at 30) and also reduces the problems caused by a low-level character obtaining the unique shields very early in their playthrough.

FAQ:

Q: Does this mod add new kinds of shields to the game?
A: No, it simply makes the shield types from ESNV continue to scale up past 50

Q: Will this conflict with anything?
A: This mod changes nothing in the primary game; it only makes changes to ESNV. The chance of a conflict is nil unless you're using another mod that tweaks ESNV.

Shield statistic details:

Rather than show tables for non-playable shields, I elected to inform you of one simple fact: their delay and break statistics are identical to playable shields, while both capacity and recharge have their values increased 50%.
